Pool Villa Checklist: Inspecting the Pool and BBQ Area and Setting a Cleaning Route

Once the checked-out guests leave, there is never much time before the next group arrives. The pool water looks cloudier than yesterday, the barbecue grill still has grease on it, and you haven't even had a chance to check whether the hot water is working. Rush through the cleanup, and you end up with reviews saying "the water felt off" or "there was a smell."

๐Ÿงญ Set the route first, and fewer things get missed

In cleaning, order matters more than effort. In our operating experience, a reliable flow is to check for breakdowns and safety first, do the main cleaning next, and finish with an inspection from the guest's point of view.

  • First: Check that the equipment works. If something is broken, dealing with it is more urgent than cleaning

  • Next: Clean in this order: barbecue area โ†’ pool โ†’ indoors. This keeps outdoor dust and water from being tracked inside

  • Last: Stand where guests first stand, and check once more with your eyes and nose

๐Ÿ“‹ Inspection checklist by area

Area

What to check

What to record

Pool

Water clarity, debris on floor and walls, odor, drainage and circulation equipment working

Overall photo, notes if anything is wrong

Water temperature / hot water

Water temperature, water heater operation, hot water in showers

Time checked, any issues

Barbecue

Grill cleanliness, gas/charcoal condition, ventilation, tongs and utensils

Photo after cleanup

Surroundings

Slippery floors, lighting, parasols, safety equipment

Items damaged or needing replacement

Standards for water quality management, disinfection, and safety equipment may differ depending on facility type and region. Specific standards should be confirmed with the relevant laws and regulations and the local authority. Rules on the use of open flames should also be confirmed with the local fire station or local government.

โš ๏ธ Most review complaints come from these three things

Complaint type

Common cause

Preventive habit

Water condition

Circulation/maintenance intervals too long

Visual check right before check-in

Odor

Drains, grill, damp items

Confirm ventilation and drying

Equipment breakdown

Missed inspections, neglected consumables

Set fixed regular inspection days

๐Ÿ’ก Keep an inspection record with photos

Photographing each area once inspection is done gives you two benefits from a single habit. The standard stays the same even when staff change, and if a complaint comes in, you have evidence of the condition at the time. On channels such as the OTA Tripbtoz, which expands exposure based on video reviews, the condition of your facilities can show up as-is in videos posted by guests, so photo records also help you check against your internal standards. That said, how guest content is displayed may differ by platform.

The longer the checklist, the less likely it is to be followed.
